During storm Goretti on the night of 8th January 2026 one trunk from a twin-trunk Monterey pine fell across the river Fal.
The mature tree has a substantial trunk which now straddles the river Fal. It is out of the water and the crown of the tree lies on the bank where some supporters of the Football Club would often stand.
The trustees (and our insurers) feel that the crown should be fenced off to make it clear that the tree is potentially dangerous and to discourage people from climbing it.
The owners of the tree are investigating options for how best to manage it.

(Safety fencing now in place)
[Update 6th March - Trewithen Estate have kindly agreed to loan the hall some fencing panels whilst a plan is made for the tree.]
[Update 9th March - fencing in place. Thanks again to Trewithen Estate.]
